The story behind the story:
The story of Exostorm began in the writing room of writer Joe Leider in 2007. Joe has been working in comic books and film for over a decade. “I know what it’s like to have a demon inside of you – I was one. Like in Exostorm, when I had to kill David in order to save him, it took a lot of strength. I fought many demons in my life. I thought I was a monster and my life was a hell on earth but then, on my next journey, something miraculous happened”, says Joe.
Exostorm’s story centers around Dave Alexander Bell and his past that endears him to the reader. Dave is a teenage boy named Dave Bell. He is the son of Xntra-1, beaker of man (a mad scientist) and normal Cole, a normal young woman. David, as he will be called later in the story, has to travel to a dimension known as Level Comics to get to the bottom of the vortex he has been plunged into. The power of level comics has been left behind a dimensional door that opens and closes whenever one is destroyed and Dave is the only inhabitant. The characters and events that he encounters in the course of his journey are animated by powerful beings that are contained within it.
Along his way Dave exposes a great evil in the comics that are there. The relationship between Dave and his family is one that is a struggle of good versus evil. We see the passage
