Post-War Dreams will be a story rich action adventure, following a post-apocalyptic, 2.5D style, realtime, side scrolling game mechanic. The player will experience the stories of new characters and encounter things they may have never expected to experience in this post-apocalyptic world, and will be faced with a variety of exciting challenges, enemies and possibilities. Players will also experience the gritty world through the eyes of the protagonist, Garrett Mitchell. Garrett’s story is a personal one, dealing with his past, his friends and his possible future. Gameplay Style: Post-War Dreams is designed to be a 2.5D story-rich action game that features a story driven, realtime side-scrolling action style with increasing difficulty. In Post-War Dreams, each level is set in a new environment. The player will encounter new city buildings, environments and enemies. Post-War Dreams is designed around a story driven 3rd-person action game system, featuring intuitive gameplay and control mechanics. Players will use Garrett’s vehicles, played out through a series of realtime scenes as he crosses the city’s streets, dodging lethal manhunters, attacking militia and kidnapping gangs. Enemies will drop weapons and items that may enhance the player’s gameplay experience. Through Garrett’s “scout” feature, the player will be able to view a variety of enemies, weapons and items the enemy may be carrying. This will allow the player to determine the best tactics for each combat situation. When attacking, the player will be able to perform classic attacks with his gun or a range of specialized moves, such as throwing firebombs, shooting electricity and even controlling vehicles. As the player advances into the game, he may have to figure out how to use multiple weapons simultaneously, all while making use of Garrett’s scout feature. Garrett’s vehicles will be extremely customizable for playability and versatility, with each having a unique set of special abilities to enhance the player’s gameplay experience. Each vehicle has a unique advantage on the battlefield. Players will have to fight against both melee and ranged attacks on the battlefield. Modes: To incentivize the player to explore the map and find combat, Garrett will earn experience points, money, weapons and items, and missions, making the player more familiar with the game, while also keeping Garrett alive. If you like Tower Defense, then you’ll love this game. Each time you start a new game, you’ll be given 3 different choices (Towers, Mobs, and Specialties). Each time you start a new game the difficulty is increased and the game is harder. Your goal in each game is to “Defend”. You have a team of Mobs (a boss and 16 other Mobs) and an army of Specialties which you must use to beat your opponents. To beat your opponent you need to wipe out most of their Specialties. If you do this, the game is over. If you fail, you must then buy them back for money. You have three shops which you can buy from in each game. Each shop has a different set of towers, Mobs and Specialties. The three shops you have at the start of the game aren’t really useful, so it’s unlikely you’ll get the best towers at first. Each time you buy a tower from one of the shops, that tower is added to your current tower gallery. When you have 15 towers and 27 Mobs in your tower gallery, the game is over and you win! Towers can be placed either on the bottom or the top of the map. Mobs can be placed anywhere on the map. Specialties can be placed on any tile that’s not part of your tower gallery. Tiles that are blocked from your tower gallery can’t have Specialties placed on them. To build a tower, choose a type of tower, and a tile on the map, then click and drag the tower to the tile. You must choose your tower wisely, as it’s your only defense against the hordes of Specialties. To select a tower type, click on the different towers for choice. Specialties cannot be placed on a tile where a tower is built yet. Towers can move when the game is being played, either manually by clicking and dragging them or automatically as long as there is an empty tile next to a tower. Towers can also be moved when the game is paused using the “Drag” button on the lower left of the screen. You can buy towers from the market anytime you have the money, but this is better saved for when you have your base set up and ready to go. Once you build a tower, it can’t be changed or rearranged.
